Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Orientation Information for 2022-2023

Children born between September 2, 2017 and February 2, 2018 qualify for Transitional Kindergarten.
Children born between September 2, 2016 and September 1, 2017 qualify for Kindergarten.

Two-Way Dual Immersion Programs in New Haven

The Personalized Learning Academy

The Personalized Learning Academy (PLA) at the Decoto School for Independent Study is a TK-12, independent, innovative, standards-based curriculum delivered through a strictly online instructional model.  Please contact Grace Kim (gkim@nhusd.k12.ca.us) for more information.

Student Transfer Information

Intra-District Transfer: Families who live WITHIN the New Haven boundaries need to enroll into their home schools FIRST. After being accepted into their home school, they can then apply to transfer to a different New Haven school by submitting an intra-district transfer request form to Hollie Carcallas (hmcarcallas@nhusd.k12.ca.us) at the  Centralized Enrollment Center.
•Use this New Haven Intradistrict form for the 2022-2023 school year. 

The deadline for intra-district transfer application submission was March 25, 2022. Late applications will be accepted and reviewed during the summer.

Inter-District Transfer: Families who live OUTSIDE the New Haven boundaries and wish to attend a New Haven school need to follow the steps below.  For questions regarding inter-district transfers, contact Hollie Carcallas (hmcarcallas@nhusd.k12.ca.us) at the  Centralized Enrollment Center.

•Download and complete this New Haven Inter-district Transfer Agreement form and submit it to your home district’s enrollment department for approval.
•Apply for enrollment in SchoolMint and complete the enrollment process for “Transferring into New Haven (Non-Resident)”.  This will notify New Haven of your intent to enroll on an Inter-district Transfer Agreement.
•Alameda County Districts begin approving requests after March 1.
